H. Rogers, Who Enrolled</I></div> <div> <I>as First Grader at School's Second Term.</I></div> <bR> <div> The Centennial school, located 3 1/2 miles east of Fair Acres, was</div> <div> opened for class work 76 years ago this month and has been in </div> <div> continuous operation since that time.</div> <div> A history of the school was given at a meeting of the Parent Teacher</div> <div> association Friday night at the school by Mrs. W. H. Rogers, who</div> <div> received her elementary school work at Centennial.  The school was</div> <div> opened in 1876 and the following year Mrs. Rogers was enrolled as </div> <div> a first grade pupil.</div> <div> A reading was given by Mrs. M. C. Garner and the lesson topic, </div> <div> "Parents Can Help Educate Children," was discussed by Mrs. John</div> <div> Straine.</div> <div> Paul Bottens, president, opend the business meeting session.  Mrs.</div> <div> Straine reported a total of $101 cleared at the school pie supper.</div> <div> Refreshments were served at the close of the meeting.</div> <bR> <div> <I>The Carthage Press, </I>November 18, 1952</div> <bR> <bR> <bR> <bR> <bR> <bR> </td> </tr></table></body>
